Celebrate MLK Day: Free Entrance to All National Parks on Monday, January 18

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, entrance to National Park Service sites across the country on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, is free!

The National Park Service turns 100 years old in 2016 and it says it want everyone to join the party! It is the first of 16 days in ’16 that the parks will offer free admission to everyone.

Parks across the country are offering special programs to reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., including George Washington Carver National Monument, Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site, and the National Mall and Memorial Parks. There will also be a special bell-ringing ceremony at Independence Hall National Historical Park.
