“I stalked this heron for over 30 minutes, waiting patiently while it was fishing in the marsh,” explains Baker. “When it finally plunged its head into the water, I was hoping for a large catch in its beak. Needless to say, it was disappointing when it came up empty. Fortunately for me, I had captured a series of photos of the action and was pleasantly surprised to find this image where the early morning sun provided a perfect backlight for the scene highlighting the red feathers and the droplets of water.”
